Lebanon ready to face all possibilities
Chaired by President Elias Hrawi, the Lebanese Cabinet on Wednesday held a meeting during which the participants in the meeting reviewed the Israeli military escalation in South Lebanon and the Western Bekaa as well as the contacts Lebanon has been making with international decision-making capitals after Israeli officials threatened to attack the Lebanese infrastructure.
The Cabinet ministers were briefed on the results of these contacts on preventing Israel from implementing its threats. Following the meeting, Lebanese Information Minister Bassem al-Sabaa said the Cabinet discussed the Israeli aggressions against South Lebanon and the Western Bekaa.
He indicated that the Cabinet listened to a lengthy intervention made by President Hrawi, but he gave no further details. The Lebanese Cabinet condemned the Israeli attacks against Lebanese civilians and populated areas. It stressed Lebanon's unswerving stances in committing to the April Understanding and rejection of attempts made to abolish it.
Al-Sabaa stressed that Lebanon has asserted to basics according to which it had joined the Middle East peace process and its clinging to unconditional implementation of UN resolution 425 calling for Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon.
