Unified index for Islamic shares to measure their performance

Originally published

An international Islamic financial corporation is planning a new service aimed at adopting a unified index for Islamic shares to measure their performance, Kuwait's news agency KUNA reported.

Chairman of the United States Financial Group, Mohammad Ali Khan, said the importance of the K.M.S. Sami index lies in the opportunity it provides to Muslim investors the ability to measure the performance of their investments and portfolios.

This fact, he said, would encourage marginal portfolios to improve their performance in order to meet the open competition and maintain their customers.

He said the new system would allow Islamic companies to measure their investments ahead of open subscription, in addition to the fact that it provides an alternative for the Dow Jones, and the Standard and Poor's indexes.
