ISESCO chief calls on Islamic minorities to set up dynamic cultural ties within societies they live in

Originally published

The director-general of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), Abdelaziz Al Twijri, called on Muslim minorities to establish dynamic cultural relationships within the societies they are living in.

In a paper presented at an Islamic encounter convening in Edinburgh (Scotland), the ISESCO chief said the Islamic communities are set to reap considerable benefits if they succeed in forging firm and fruitful cultural ties with their host countries.

He added that cultural relations can yield positive results only when they are based on mutual respect, confidence and belief in commonly shared objectives.

The ISESCO director general urged Muslim communities living in foreign countries to use the opportunities available to them to enhance cultural dialogue, friendship and understanding between the Muslim world and Western countries.
