Britain denies military cooperation agreement with Israel
The British Foreign Office today denied news reports that Britain and Israel recently signed a security agreement to monitor the redeployment of self-propelled ballistic missiles in the Middle East.
The British spokesman said that no security agreement existed and that not even security negotiations had taken place with Israel. News reports earlier said that such an agreement was recently concluded during talks held by the Israeli deputy war minister in London.
Meantime, the British London Times today said that Britain and Israel signed an agreement on security cooperation aiming at monitoring the redeployment of ballistic missiles in the Middle East. The paper added that the agreement was concluded during secret security talks held recently in London.
The paper added that the agreement centers on following up on the consequences of the arms race in the Middle East following Iran's successful test of a Shehab 2 intermediate-range missile.
