Arab Lawyers Union welcomes international criminal court
Farouk Abu Eissa, the secretary-general of the Arab Lawyers Union expressed the appreciation of the Arab lawyers for the success of international diplomatic conference in deciding on the main rules for the international criminal court, which was supported by 120 countries, considering it a positive step for the observance of the rules of international law, through a permanent mechanism.

Abu Eissa also stated that the court's goals are represented in combating war crimes, mass destruction, and invasions.
Abu Eissa urged Arab non-governmental organizations to enhance this new legal entity to perform its desired role of supporting people, achieving justice and democracy and enhancing human rights, he also warned that some countries would use their power to create duplicity and attempt to halt and delay the international criminal court and prevent it from achieving its goals.
Abu Eissa ended his statement by saluting the international community and Arab governmental and non-governmental organizations that contributed to the ratification of the agreement for the international criminal court. He called on the coalition of non-governmental organizations to support the efforts of the international court.
