Palestine to launch its first satellite television channel

Palestine will launch next year its first satellite television channel, it was officially announced in Ramallah on Friday.

"The channel will be launched on January first, 1999," using the Egyptian satellite "Nilesat 101," Map quoted a Palestinian official as saying. The launch of the satellite channel will coincide with the fourth anniversary of the creation of the Palestinian radio-television in 1995, he added.
