A message to Lebanese foreign minister from Australian counterpart
Lebanese Foreign Minister Fares Boueiz today received a message of support from his Australian counterpart, Alexander Downer on the Middle East peace process and the conditional Israeli proposal on UN resolution 425.
The message was delivered by the Australian ambassador to Lebanon upon his meeting with Boueiz in Beirut today.
Following the meeting, the Australian ambassador stressed his country's position in support of the implementation of UN resolution 425, which provides for unconditional Israeli withdrawal from south Lebanon. He noted that his country is closely following developments in the region, especially as 500,000 Lebanese reside in Australia.
