Originally published

Richard Jones, the American ambassador in Beirut stated that the explosion last Sunday near the US embassy in Beirut was aimed at shaking the stability and security of the region and causing problems to US - Lebanese relations, and denied that there is a relation between the incident and the American decision to allow Americans to travel to Lebanon.

Elsewhere, the Palestinian public committees held yesterday a general strike in Ein El-Helwa camp in southern Lebanon to protest the fact that the Canadian peace envoy in the Canadian Foreign Ministry Andrew Robinson has not visited Ein El-Helwa and because consecutive visits of the international delegation, did not result in any positive outcomes.
