During his visit, El-Beshri will sign with his Slovenian counterpart two agreements over scientific and economic cooperation as well as protecting joint investments.

Andre Jypenick, ambassador of Slovenia republic in Cairo, said that his country is looking forward to this visit, especially because it is the first visit from an Egyptian minister since the two states agreed to exchange diplomatic representation between the two countries.

He also expected that El-Beshri's visit may open new horizons for cooperation and help find links between Egypt's harbor on the Mediterranean Sea and Koper harbor in Slovenia.

Jypenick stated that the volume of commercial exchange between Egypt and Slovenia is on the increase and reached $45 million in 1997. He also said he expects that the volume of the commercial during this year will increase.
