Hamas' Sheikh Yassin returns to Gaza

Hamas announced on Wednesday in Gaza that its spiritual leader, Sheikh Ahmad Yassin, arrived in Gaza after a controversial four-month tour in the Middle East.

Sheikh Yassin left Cairo earlier in the day on Wednesday and was inspected at the Israeli sector to the entrance of Rafah on the border between Egypt and Gaza strip.

He was welcomed into Palestine by a high-ranking Hamas delegation with hundreds of activists chanting slogans: " We are Hamas soldiers," and "Yassin: you are our leader, you are a hero." Sheikh Yassin was not welcomed by any Palestinian government officials.

During his tour, Yassin visited Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Yemen, Syria, Egypt and Sudan.
