Jordan wants to be compensated if it halts normalization with Israel
A correspondent with Monte Carlo radio in Damascus said on Monday that well-informed Syrian sources demanded that Jordan take a frank stand towards normalizing relations with Israel at a time when Jordanian sources stressed the need to compensate Jordan economically in case US aid is cut as a result of halting normalization with Israel.
The correspondent added that the Saudi crown prince, who concluded a visit to Damascus on Monday, discussed with Syrian officials the possibility of convening an Arab summit in Damascus. Official sources expected a tripartite Syrian, Egyptian and Saudi summit to be later held in Riyadh.
