Originally published

Jordanian Prime Minister Dr. Abdul Salam al-Majali said that Syrian-Jordanian contacts are proceeding "despite certain differences in viewpoints." In a statement issued on Sunday by the Jordanian daily al-Dustour, al-Majali added, "We have realized conditions of the Syrian leadership, and they recognize ours as well."

Al-Majali, denied that relations between Jordan and the Hamas movement have been deteriorating, noting that his government has all respect and appreciation for the said movement. Yet, he noted that Jordan takes a different stand from "any organization which contradicts with its rules and regulations."
