Austrian Chancellor in Tunis today

Austrian Chancellor Viktor Klima is beginning a three-day official visit to Tunisia today at the invitation of Tunisian Prime Minister Hamed Karoui.

Klima's visit to Tunisia comes among a series of international visits prior to his country's assumption of the European Union's presidency at the beginning of the summer.

Klima's visit aims at enhancing the cooperation between the European Union and Tunisia within the participation agreement reached by the two sides in 1995, which took effect in March.

The visit is also aims at discussing activating bilateral relations between the two countries as well as methods of enhancing the peace process in the Middle East.
