Tunisia seeks to expand the 2 free zones in Benzert and Gariss

The free zone department in Tunisia has agreed to establish 19 projects in the petrol services and industrial sectors.

The Free Zone Development Company in Gariss, 500 km south of the Tunisian capital, Tunis, has finished specifying the spaces for the project, totaling 40 hectars. It is expected to set up another 27 hectars during the current year with investments of $3.5 million.

A source in the company said it intends to launch an information campaign in Asian countries in order to attract projects in the petroleum and technology development sectors.

The source expected the investment volume in the free zone to reach $20 million and double the number of job opportunities to 500 during the current year.
