Lebanese national resistance forces on Sunday afternoon attacked three Israeli military positions manned by Israeli troops and allied South Lebanon Army fighters.

In a statement, the resistance said that three fighter groups attacked the positions in Sujoud, Beer Klab and Kassarat al-Aroush with rockets, machine-guns and mortar shells. When the Israeli troops tried to advance further reinforcements via al-Rayhan road, the Lebanese fighters fired anti-tank guns and mortar shells against the advancing forces and scored direct hits. The occupation troops tried to evacuate its casualties, firing smoke artillery guns to screen the evacuation effort.

Meanwhile, the Lebanese resistance attacked an Israeli military position at Jama'a mountain between Eitroun and Muheibib towns in the occupied part of south Lebanon. Earlier in the day, Lebanese resistance men directly hit an Israeli military motorcade while it was entering Zamraya checkpoint in south Lebanon.

Meanwhile, Israeli occupation troops continued to launch attacks on several southern areas, including the outskirts of Skakra Barachit, and Burkat Naqiyah towns and al-Salouki valley.

The aggressive shelling coincided with sorties carried out at low altitudes by Israeli warplanes over the demarcation line in the central sector, the sources said.

Israeli warplanes flew over south Lebanese areas, breaking the sound barrier over Nabatieh and al-Tuffah district.

On Saturday, the Israeli occupation forces continued attacks against areas adjacent to occupied south Lebanon, especially al-Tuffah district heights.
