Bonn seeks to improve relations with Libya

German Foreign Ministry commissioner Helmut Schiffer stressed his country's wish to improve relations with Libya.

This was expressed during the German official's meeting with a Libyan parliamentary delegation led by the deputy chairman of the people's general congress, Abdul Hamid al-Zantani. Schiffer noted, "Libya has to take part in the deliberations between the European Union and the Mediterranean states," expressing regret that such a possibility is obstructed because of the Lockerbie incident.
