Syrian justice minister: Arab states rejects terrorism
Syrian Minister of Justice Hussein Hassan said the anti-terrorism agreement signed yesterday by Arab states at Arab League headquarters confirms to the world that the Arab states reject terrorism as a goal or a method, and adheres to international resolutions to achieve people's rights to self-determination and armed struggle against foreign occupying forces.
He also added that the Arab states reject all attempts to combine these two concepts to nullify the rights of the people for self determination and to resist occupation.
He added that the signing of this agreement is an indication of the nation's position rejecting terrorism as related to Arab heritage in the prophets' land. He added that the Arab position proves that terrorism is not natural or legitimate.
He said that the Arab states are still exposed to hideous and strong forms of terrorism by Israeli killings of children and women.
Syria was one of the countries that stressed the need for the agreement to allow for the rights of individuals to resist occupation such as in Southern Lebanon and Syrian Golan, and Palestinian territories, without being labeled as terrorists.
