kidnapped British reported in good health
A source at the British embassy in Sanaa said on Wednesday that British teacher David Mitchell and members of his family held since Thursday in a mountainous area by a Yemeni tribe are in good health. British charge d'affairs in Sanaa David Percy said in press statements that three meetings with the British family showed that they are in good health.
Percy said the demands of the kidnappers are not known yet. "Apparently they want roads in their district to be constructed and schools to be built."
Meanwhile, the Yemeni authorities delegated Sanaa governor Muhammad Abdul Latif al-Soufi to Zammar province south of Sanaa, where the hostages were held to convince the kidnappers to release Mitchell, his wife and their son.
