Norwegian oil investment in Libya

Norway licensed Saja petroleum company -- the largest Norwegian oil company working in Libya -- to invest in Libya, noting that this measure does not constitute a violation of UN sanctions imposed on Libya.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Norway's foreign minister was quoted as saying his ministry reviewed the Saja company's investments to verify that the excavation work the company conducts does not violate sanctions imposed on Libya by the UN.
