Arab ministers sign anti-terrorism pact

Originally published

Deliberations of the joint special meeting of the council of the Arab ministers of the interior and justice concluded in Cairo on Wednesday with the expected endorsment of an agreement on fighting terrorism.

The pact laid the foundation for collective Arab cooperation to fight terrorism, both in security and judicial fields and to maintain the agreement to extradite criminals. The pact provides calls on the Arab states not to organize, finance or carry out acts of terrorism and not to make Arab lands a venue for planning or committing terrorist crimes.

Moreover, the pact stressed the right of citizens in the escalating and mounting armed struggle against foreign occupation and aggression, in fighting to liberate occupied territories and in waging national struggles to achieve self-determination and independence.
