Cohen for modernizing Israeli army

Israeli radio reported on Wednesday that the US Defense Secretary William Cohen who is visiting Israel next week in the context of his Middle East tour will meet with his Israeli counterpart Yitzhak Mordechai

The report said the two ministers will discuss a plan providing for modernizing the older weapons still used by the Israeli army. They will also discuss the Israeli request to finance the erection of a third anti-ballistic Arrow missile battery.

Ankara will the first station in Cohen's visit from which he will move to Jordan, Egypt, Israel and then to Greece.
