More Israeli shelling of Lebanon

Originally published

Israeli occupation forces on Sunday shelled areas adjacent to the occupied strip of south Lebanon, including al-Tuffah district hills. Lebanese security sources said the Israeli artillery in al-Zafata position bombarded al-Rafai mountain, the Green Valley, Lwezeh town's outskirts, Aqmata farm, Litani riverbed and al-Taseh spring-bed.

The shelling was accompanied by heavy machine-gun fire against areas opposite to al-Zafata position, and Israeli warplanes carried out raids over several areas in the south.

In retaliation, the Lebanese resistance attacked the Israeli position in Dier Klab. Lebanese resistance sources said its forces machine-gunned and rocketed the position. The attacks scored direct hits and the position's southern fortifications were destroyed.

On Saturday, Israeli occupation forces continued their bombardment of al-Tuffah district hills. News reports from south Lebanon said the shelling concentrated on the surroundings of Sujud and Aqmata districts.
