Lebanon will call for the municipal elections

Lebanese sources said that Minister of Interior, Michel Murr will send an invitation to electoral organizations this week to choose municipal and electoral councils in three stages starting on May 21.

The Ministry of Interior will take measures to prepare training courses for about 9,000 employees in the general sector who work in education aimed at training them to supervise the elections to avoid problems that effected the last parliamentary elections.

The sources said municipal elections will take place on time and that there is no reason or plan to delay them, unless there are exceptional security developments forcing their delay.

He added that the Ministry of Interior will continue with practical preparations for the elections.
