A charity Bazaar for Syrian artisan community
"Welcome to the Charity Bazaar, and it is great to see so many guests at the bazaar," Mrs. Milianne Donders told the ladies who came to her residence in Yafour, near Damascus on March 18.
"My aim," Mrs Robert Wener who attended the event explained, "is to help as many local charities as possible but also to support the Syrian artisan community."
The host told the gathering that she was thrilled to announce that Syria Shell company has kindly offered to double the proceeds of the organizing committee for the day. "With your kind contributions and the extra money from Shell Syria we will be able to support a whole range of local charities of all denominations," she said.
Donders said the charity bazaar seeks to back Damascus artists to travel to Yafour and see the remarkable and attractive scenes there and the remarkable achievements the Syrians attained.
"Everything exhibited here is handicraft and mainly by Syrian artists," she said. She expressed her support for local charities, including SOS, UNICEF, al-Eadair, Anat, American Women's Association and many others.
The money raised by thiecharity committee will support charity projects and associations only in Syria. The bazaar features 30 stalls exhibiting beautiful and unique handicrafts made by Syrian artists and foreigners using Syrian-made raw materials.
