France not ready to take position against Syrian - Lebanese will

The assistant spokeswoman for the French Foreign Ministry on Thursday said UN resolution 425 does not state any preconditions concerning Israel's withdrawal from south Lebanon nor does it give guarantees to Israel.

In an interview with Monte Carlo radio on Thursday, the deputy spokeswoman reiterated French position toward Israeli proposals of conditional implementation, adding that France is not ready to take positions against the will of Syria and Lebanon in this respect.
