Moroccan group against normalization with Israel

Originally published

The Moroccan Society for Cosmetic Medicine has refused to invite an Israeli delegation to attend the second conference of orthodontic dentists in the Mediterranean which is due to be held in Morocco on April 16.

The decision of the Moroccan Society for Cosmetic Medicine said yesterday that the society's decision has sprung from Morocco's national position on rejecting the presence of Israeli delegations in scientific gatherings due to Israeli criminal policies in occupied Arab lands and the building of settlements and rejecting peace.

Morocco was one of the first Arab states to establish political contacts and develop relations with Israel. But recently Morocco's King Hassan II has refused any future communications with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to Israel's daily Yediot Ahronot. The report quoted King Hassan as saying "I'm not prepared to meet with this man, with Netanyahu... his body language projects aggression, something violent."

Meanwhile, Palestinian journalists called for the boycott of an Israeli - Palestinian conference in Athens on April 2.
