Jordanian crown prince to visit Israel

Jordan's Crown Prince Hassan will arrive in Tel Aviv on Tuesday to hold a series of meetings with Israeli officials.

Israeli Foreign Ministry sources welcomed the visit, noting that it embodies Jordan's desire to strengthen bilateral relations following the failed assassination attempt against Hamas leader Khaled Mishal in Amman in September, 1997.

Israeli radio said UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan will visit Israel by the end of March in the course of his tour on the Gulf states.
