UAE welcomes sultanate's call for oil meeting

Officials in the United Arab Emirates welcomed Oman's call for a meeting of oil producers within and outside OPEC, aimed at stopping the crude oil price slide.

The UAE's minister of oil and mineral resources, Obaid Al-Nassi, described Oman's call as a "welcome initiative" that would help support efforts to halt the decline in oil prices.
