UN says repatriation of Saharan refugees not a simple task

UNHCR sources said that repatriation process of Saharan refugees living in Tindov camps and northern Mauritania is not a simple task.

The UNHCR spokeswoman said the commissioner is satisfied that Moroccan - Algerian efforts can reach a solution and that the UN Security Council resolution issued last year concerning the parameters of this solution is good.

However, she added that such progress couldn't put an end to official criticism from Morocco concerning the circumstances of the refugees' repatriation and the final numbers to be repatriated.
