Syrian economy minister opens bank branch

Syrian Minister of Economy and Foreign Trade Muhammad al-Imadi on Saturday inaugurated commercial Bank no. 3 in Damascus' Hariqa area, within the framework of the ministry's plan to expand and modernize banking services.

Following the inauguration ceremony, the minister told the press that banking in Syria is developing rapidly and coping with the country's economic development. "Cashing a check won't take more than a few minutes," the minister said, referring to the improvements introduced to the banking system in the country.
