Positive Iranian signs regarding the UAE isles
The Iranian statements on the issue of the UAE three occupied isles are expected to turn into concrete steps, following the recent statement of the Iranian Foreign Minister Kamal Kherazi, in which he said that his country is serious about solving the problem of the three isles through direct negotiations.
UAE Foreign Minister Rashid bin Abdallah al-Nuaymi welcomed this new Iranian policy and stated that his country will respond to those signs and statements as it will try to help turn those statements into realities.
Abdallah added that what is happening in Iran gives optimism to the UAE and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, as they are looking forward to cooperation and good relations with Iran.
The secretary general of the GCC Gamil Al Hogailan stated that the council supports the UAE in its legal request to restore its three isles by ending the Iranian occupation and supports its call to end this crisis peacefully.
Al Hogailan called on Iran to respond to those requests in order to boost the atmosphere of confidence and cooperation between the GCC countries and Iran. He hoped that positive developments would occur in that concern through direct negotiations or through the International Court of Justice.
