Foreign companies thrive in Morocco

Total industrial production output of foreign industrial companies working in Morocco during the previous year reached $4.5 billion, which represents 32% of total Moroccan industrial production.

The Moroccan Ministry of Finance said that a survey of 1,036 industrial companies that have foreign contributions showed that the value of their industrial production increased by 9%, reaching $4.5 billion last year. It also showed that those companies' production represents 32% of total Moroccan industrial production.

The survey also said that direct investments in those companies totaled $1 billion during the same year, an increase of 15% compared to figures from the previous year.

The number of workers in those companies reached 154,000, or 33% of the total Moroccan industrial workforce, the ministry stated.
