Palestinian Legislative Council member: Collapse of peace process means chaos

A member of the Palestinian Legislative Council who is also a member of the Palestinian negotiating committee, Nabil Amr, stated that if the peace process collapses, the alternative will be chaos and that the Israelis will not be in a good position if the peace process goes back to the situation prevailing before its start.

He added that the Palestinians need a new US mechanism and more US ideas, especially since the whole peace process is a US idea and initiative.

He also said that everyone should remember that the term peace process and all its steps especially the Palestinian track were initiated by the US and under US auspices and efforts. Thus everybody needs the US to play a role that suits its position and responsibility in the peace process.
