Bashir to visit Egypt during Ramadan

Well-informed Sudanese sources in Cairo said Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir will visit Egypt in the second half of Ramadan.

The sources told Saudi daily al-Riyadh in statements issued on Thursday that the countries' mutual interest in restoring normal relations is manifest in the bilateral decision to resume river navigation as of January 15 after being halted for four years and in the increase in the number of air flights between them.

Meanwhile in a speech he delivered at the Legislative council in al-Khartoum district, President Bashir stressed his country's desire to strengthen relations with Egypt and to continue efforts to achieve reconciliation with the Sudanese opposition.
