Iran denies US official visit to Teheran

Spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Mahmoud Muhammadi said in press statements yesterday, "No American envoy has visited Iran," referring to reports claiming a Jewish Democratic congressman from California, Tom Lantos, had visited Tehran on Monday, IRNA reported.

In November Lantos introduced a resolution that was approved by the US House of Representatives placing the House on record in favor of the use of force in dealing with Iraq, if necessary.
