Israel worried about possible suicide attacks

Originally published

As they do every year at the start of Ramadan, Israeli security services issued warnings that attacks are likely to be carried out by members of Hamas, the Islamic Resistance Movement, to mark the holy month of Ramadan.

According to these warnings, a mass attack on a busy population center is planned. The warning was given to intelligence bodies as well as to the political leadership and the police.

The Israeli army decided to beef up its presence in the West Bank and in areas along the pre-1967 Green Line border between Israel and the West Bank in an attempt to prevent infiltration of potential suicide bombers.
