Arab League efforts appreciated by Comoros

Arab League Secretary-General Esmat Abdul Meguid on Wednesday discussed with the speaker of the Comoran parliament, Salim Jaber, economic and development conditions in Comoros.

Following the meeting, Jaber thanked the AL for appointing a special envoy to his country to follow up on conditions there in the hopes of preserving its unity and sovereignty. Jaber asked Meguid to seek Arab states' economic and political support for his country to face its economic crisis.

Meguid said the AL is intensifying contacts with all Arab states for urgent economic aid to the people of Comoros, hoping the country will succeed in restoring previous unity.
