Lebanese enjoy reunion
Over the past two days people in south Lebanon have had moments of joy and happiness merged with tears when citizens from the occupied town of Jezzine and towns and villages of liberated Eastern Sidon met at Kfar Falous crossing, which was officially opened on Friday morning.
The opening of the crossing came in response to a decision endorsed by the Lebanese cabinet as a result of intensive diplomatic efforts that restore life to the road a 12 year, 8 month blockade by the Israeli occupation forces. The blockade was established in April 1985, following East Sidon incidents involving Lahd's militias.
The Lebanese people who crowded the crossing exchanged speeches stressing the need to liberate the occupied lands. By reopening the crossing, the distance between Sidon and Jezzine is shortened and some 45 towns and 41 plantations in the district of Jezzine have become part of the homeland.
