Israel still holding Gaza airport equipment

Originally published

The director of the Palestinian Civil Aviation Authority, Brigadier Fayez Zedan, said that Israel is preventing needed equipment sent for the Gaza airport from entering through Asdor port in Israel.

Voice of Palestine radio reported Zedan as saying that Israel is still preventing the equipment from entering Palestine though all fees had been paid.

Zedan added that other parts are still at European ports which granted the equipment and appliances to Palestine to help it operate the International Gaza Airport.

Germany, Spain, and Morocco had stated that they would grant the equipment and machines to the Palestinians. Israel had agreed on some of the important issues during the last round of negotiations with Palestine which made Zedan express his optimism that Palestine will receive the equipment and machines soon.
