Terrorists kill 5 in Algeria
Attackers with swords and axes killed five bakers in their shop south of Algiers, an Algerian newspaper said.
The attackers killed the five in a bakery in Ferrokha, near the garrison town of Blida, 30 miles south of Algiers on Friday, La-Tribune paper reported.
The report said that local government militiamen, alerted by the cries of the victims' relations, went to the scene but the attackers had already fled, Al-Ahram daily reported. No one claimed responsibility for the killing, the latest in a series of massacres of civilians in Blida province.
The newspaper also reported that terrorists using homemade mortars shelled the southern town of Djefa, but no one was hurt.
In Algiers, bomb disposal experts on Wednesday defused a booby-trapped car which had been set to explode in the Belcourt district, Al-Watan said.
