Kuwait fears a civil war might break out in Iraq

Saud al-Nasir Al-Sabah, the Kuwaiti minister of information, expressed his fear that a civil war that might break out in Iraq due to changes in the government which would lead to intervention from neighboring countries.

He said that Iraq is ready to topple the Iraqi regime.

He said that if a civil war breaks out in Iraq it will last for years and that Kuwait will be affected by it. Sabah also rejected the idea of a division of Iraq.

He also said that the Gulf region is passing through difficult circumstances and it needs to avoid slogans and predictions.
