Moroccan party supports a coalition government
The Moroccan National Democratic Party (MNDP) stated that it believes that forming a national coalition government is enough to allow the country's affairs to run smoothly and will give Morocco the chance to deal with internal and external challenges.
The undersecretary of the party, Abdalla Al Kadry, confirmed that the party is assessing all the new political developments which were brought about by the recent election. The MNDP is one of the left wing parties that formed the former coalition government.
Al Kadry also confirmed that he does not rule out the possibility of entering into an alliance with other parties to form a new coalition government although the party prefers to remain within the opposition.
There is a conviction in the MNDP that the upcoming government will be formed by the opposition together with the central parties that won a great number of the seats in the first chamber of parliament.
Al Kadry added that the election that was held on December 5 enabled the UNDP to regain some of the seats that it had lost in the election held on November 14.
The party won 21 seats in the Council of Advisors. The UNDP together with the Constitutional Union and the Popular Movement formed the Reconciliation Group that came in second place in the December 5 election.
