Jordan supplies Israel with water

Originally published

"Jordan is to supply Israel with 10 million cubic meters of water from Wadi Araba district as an implementation of Wadi Araba Agreement", said Jordainan irrigation minister Munzir Hadadin.

In a statement he made to the Jordanian al-Arab al Youm daily on Sunday, Hadadin made it clear that the water is a substitute for ten million cubic meters of fresh water Jordan has begun to receive from Tabariya lake in June 1995.

The Jordanian minister added that Jordanian drills are digging three artesian wells in Wadi Araba to supply Israel with this water, which will be used in agriculture.
