Originally published

British Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Derek Fatchette has stressed the need to revitalize the Middle East peace process in order to achieve just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East region.

In a statement to the United Arab Emirates (UAE) News Agency Fatchette said the peace process will be at the top of the agenda during Britain's presidency of the EU, noting his country has expressed concern to the Israeli government on Israeli practices against the Palestinians in the occupied Arab territories.

Fatchette stated that the British diplomatic missions in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem monitor the situation closely and maintain contacts with the non-governmental organizations concerned.
