Limited passage between Gaza Strip, West Bank
Palestinians living in the West Bank will from now on be allowed to visit their relatives in Gaza provided they are above 45 years old if they are males or 35 years old if they are females, Palestinian sources said.
The sources added that children below 14 years old will also be included in the new category of people allowed to travel from the West Bank to the Gaza Strip.
According the the Oslo Accords, Israel should have already allowed a free passage between the West Bank and the Gaza Strip but has failed. For the time being, special permits are issued by the Israeli military authorities for those wishing to visit the Gaza Strip, but obtaining those permits has mostly been problematic, so much so that many Palestinians even skipped the idea in its entirety.
