Iraq update

Iraq's ambassador to the UN, Nizar Hamdoun delivered a letter to the UN which he said, "Iraq invites the UNSCOM back to resume its work." The teams will include Americans, he said. The weapons inspection teams had been waiting for official word that they would be allowed back without preconditions. Hamdoun credited the Russians for their role in negotiations and said that Iraq hopes the Russian plan "will lead us to the closure of the files."
