Organization works to end kidnappings and murders by tribesmen
The Yemeni Arbitration Organization, a non-governmental organization founded on July 20 this year, is preparing a charter of honor which will be signed by all Yemeni tribes to decrease the number of wars between them and to decrease the retaliatory accidents. The organization will also try to deal with the problem of tribesmen keeping arms and kidnapping foreigners.
A member of the organization and one of its founders, Abdel Qawi Shweih, said that the organization started to take its first step in this concern after it got a promise from the Yemeni President Aly Aballa Saleh and from Parliament Speaker Sheikh Abdalla Hussein Al Ahmar to support their volunteer efforts.
He added that the organization has made wide-ranging contacts since its foundation with the government officials, the heads of the tribes, and many social dignitaries in all the provinces of Yemen to get their support for its activities and efforts. Many dignitaries who are known for their expertise in the tribes' tradition and customs joined the organization to offer their help.
