Hariri meets Ghali in Hanoi

Prime Minister Rafik Hariri met with former UN Secretary-General Butros Ghali yesterday, after his arrival in Hanoi to participate in the Francophone summit. The discussions centered around the expected course of the summit.

After the meeting, Ghali announced his desire to visit Lebanon in the coming months and said he supported Hariri's proposal to host the 2001 Francophone summit in Lebanon.

Hariri will give Lebanon's speech during the opening of the summit today. He is also expected to meet several Francophone leaders, including French president Jacques Chirac.
