12-states-conference for quake proof housing

The second scientific conference on seismic engineering opened yesterday in Aswan with the participation of 100 experts and researchers representing 12 Arab and foreign states, including France, U.S.A, Canada, Japan, and Saudi Arabia.

The 3-day conference, organized in collaboration with the faculty of engineering, at Cairo University, will pore over 40 research papers on the effects of earthquakes on new housing projects in the southern valley, especially Toshka valley, and the national strategy for dealing with earthquake damage in Egypt.
