Maasara blast echoes across Cairo
A loud explosion echoed throughout Cairo at about 5 p.m. yesterday and security sources said it had been caused by dynamite blasting at a quarry south of the city.
The blast was heard throughout downtown Cairo, where it shook windows, and in suburbs to the east, southeast and north, Al Ahrar daily said today.
The sources said there were no injuries in the explosion from a quarry near the southern district of Massara, at least 6 miles from the center of the Egyptian Capital.
